Computer Center
ECDC is committed to adult and family education, community literacy and providing universal computer and Internet access. ECDC accomplishes this through a community accessible computer lab and through cutting-edge technology training programs, such as employment-focused training, job readiness training, and training in the general operation of computers, specific software programs, and Internet use and research. Read on for more information:ECDC's Computer Center is open to local community residents interested in bettering their computer skills, whether it is for their own personal satisfaction or to open employment opportunities. If you are serious about updating your skills, changing careers, or learning what other opportunities await you via the Internet, the ECDC Computer Center can develop a customized curriculum that will help you achieve your goals. We provide a nurturing atmosphere conducive for clients to learn and thrive, regardless of educational and/or financial barriers. Our Computer Center offers flexible scheduling, one on one instructor training, group classes, hands-on training, and distance learning options.

ECDC's Computer Center has a computer lab with high-speed Internet access, loaded with software. When the computer center is not used for classes, the lab is open to the community. Community members may come in for on-line job searches, Internet research or to use Microsoft programs. In addition to offering free access to state-of -the-art computers and high-speed broadband Internet service, ECDC is all about community building and support for our students in the development of their careers and opportunities to start new businesses.

The ECDC Computer Center is committed to helping community members gain a basic understanding of computer concepts, learn to operate the computer, and learn how to use the Internet efficiently. The ultimate goal is to enhance the quality of lives through application of technical knowledge, access and hands on experience. Students will retain more of what they learn through real world experience and proficiency based advancement.

The ECDC Computer Center was founded in August 2007. Our goal is to provide the community with low-cost computer access and instruction. We provide opportunities to learn new skills and enhance the lives of the residents of Evanston. The Computer Center staff provides the encouragement and step-by step instruction to overcome that fear and move ahead into the world of technology!
